Ultimately responsible for the support of over eight thousand PCs at the Polaris facility in Columbus, Ohio.  Manage four direct reports (Supervisors), and twenty-one indirect reports (LAN Analysts and Engineers).  Meet with clients to determine their needs, and recommend solutions.  Complete performance evaluations and monthly reports.  Provide third level technical support for the team.  Coordinate team resources for daily support and projects.  Work with other areas within Distributed technology Support, and within the other IT groups to service our clients as efficiently and effectively as possible.

 

PC/LAN Consultant Team Lead

4/1998 - 6/1998  Bank One, Columbus, OH

LAN Administration, hardware setup and configuration, TCP/IP configuration, software installation, day to day support and troubleshooting for 225 PCs running Windows 95 in a Novell Netware 4.x environment including 3270 emulation for mainframe access.  Second level technical support for the other members of the team.  Queue manager for the campus, which involved managing the workflow of the campus, and distributing all work orders to the technicians.  Contact person for all projects impacting the campus.Note:  Bank One and JPMorgan Chase are currently the same company.  I was promoted to a management position after three months in this position.

 

PC/LAN Analyst

6/1996 - 4/1998  Bank One, Columbus, OH

LAN Administration, PC hardware setup and configuration, TCP/IP configuration, software installation, Netware and Windows NT server installation, configuration, and maintenance, day to day support and troubleshooting for 450 PCS running Windows 3.x and Windows 95 in a Novell Netware 3.12 and 4.x environment including 3270 emulation for mainframe access.  Setup and support of 25 PCs attaching to two Windows NT 4.0 servers providing file and print services. Support of one Windows NT 4.0, and two Windows NT 3.51 Sybase database servers.  Planned and implemented the conversion of the National Support Center from an OS/2 LAN Server environment with OS/2 clients to a Novell Netware 4.1 environment with a mix of Windows 3.x and Windows 95 clients.

 

End User Analyst

6/1995 - 6/1996  Bank One, Columbus, OH

Provided regional second and third level telephone and on site support for the Research Automation LANs in Columbus, Indianapolis, Bedford, and Phoenix, running OS/2 2.11 and 3.0, LAN Server 3.0 and 4.0, TCP/IP, Communications Manager 1.11, and Lotus applications. Installed three new servers, one each in Columbus, Indianapolis, and Bedford, and tuned the existing servers in Columbus, and Indianapolis to improve performance, and increase the number of clients that each server could support.  Implemented a method of imaging OS/2 workstations in Columbus and Indianapolis to decrease setup time.

 

LAN Systems Analyst

Developed and coded a PC based imaging application using FileNet's WorkFlo scripting language, determined hardware and software PC configurations, configuration and support of all team and test PCs in a multiple protocol (IPX/SPX, TCP/IP, NetBEUI, DLC), 50+ node, LAN environment including IBM LAN Server 3.0, IBM LAN Requester 3.0, Novell Netware 3.12, Novell Requester 2.1 for OS/2, and TCP/IP 2.0 for OS/2; network administration, setup and support of MDI database gateway, setup and support of 3270 gateways using Communications Manager/2, system administrator for two FileNet (IBM) RS6000 servers running AIX. Installed one test and two production database gateway servers that also served as 3270 gateways.

 

Development Services Specialist

9/1992 - 8/1993  Huntington Service Company, Columbus, OH

Administered a 200 node IBM OS/2 LAN Server network,  installed, maintained, and configured PC hardware, operating systems and applications, in an IBM LAN Server, token ring environment, PC and LAN troubleshooting, ordered PC hardware and software, consulted with clients, tracked purchase orders using dBase III plus, network backups, mainframe dataset cleanup, PC and mainframe application support for 200 users. Planned and implemented the installation of five print servers to remove some of the load from the two existing file servers.

 

Programmer/Analyst

10/1989 - 8/1992  Huntington Service Company, Columbus, OH

Maintenance and new development on an IBM 3090 using Cobol, Easytrieve, CICS, DB2, SQL, TSO, and SDSF; and on an IBM PS/2 Model 70 using IEF, and Programmer Workbench.Co-wrote the Community Reinvestment Act application, which was used in all of the banking offices to collect loan information required by the government.
